The master thesis aimed to map the debate and arguments related to the family in the Norwegian gay rights movement from 1973 until 2008. This was accomplished by exploring the views and arguments expressed in the Norwegian gay journals Fritt Fram, Løvetann and Blikk, in consultation responses and public papers. Through this, the understanding of the family was documented and analysed with a focus on attitudes towards the family, and how the attitudes and argumentation changed over the set time period.
