Abstract

Summary This last decade, father's rights and obligations concerning the care of children have been the main focus in the development of Norway's family policies. In relation to the present's focus on fatherhood, this thesis examines how fathers of young children narrate about being a father. More specifically, this thesis examines how fathers of young children interpret fatherhood and also which factors influences their use of parental leave. This study is based on seven qualitative interviews that I have conducted with fathers of young children.
