This project explores the performance and usefulness of Bluetooth Low Energy beacons within a physical retail store setting. Together with a fellow student I conduct an experiment to explore their performance. The results reveal limitations, though this is partly caused by special external circumstances. Within those limitations I construct a proof of concept instantiation, which monitors and analyses customer flow in a physical retail store setting. The results show that BLE technology is useful in this setting, even under abnormally severe constraints.
