dc.description.abstractFinite element modelling of buoyancy driven flow in geothermal systems is presented in this thesis. The main focus is on the development of a numerical modelling tool. The program developed is tested for classical benchmarks and correspondence with analytical values for the critical Rayleigh-Darcy numbers for onset of convection and Nusselt numbers for various scenarios is shown.en_US
