Avspenning i reseptiv musikkterapi: En kasusstudie med to afasipasienter under rehabilitering

Abstract

Dette er en kvalitativ kasus studie med fokus på hvorvidt reseptiv musikkterapi virker avspennende på to pasienter som har fått afasi forårsaket av hjerneslag. Afasipasientene mottok et ulikt antall musikkterapitimer, over en periode på omtrent fem uker, som tilleggsbehandling i et rehabiliteringsforløp på sykehus. Begge pasientene var hardt rammet av afasi når undersøkelsen fant sted, og hadde dårlig ordproduksjon per minutt. I oppgaven vektlegges pasientenes egenopplevelse av reseptiv musikkterapi og om de finner det avspennende. Evalueringen inkluderer resultater fra deltakende observasjon, spørsmål fra graderingsskjema pre og post reseptiv musikkterapi, samt Norsk Grunntest for Afasi pre- and post- musikkterapiforløpet. Pasientene ga positiv tilbakemelding på bruken av reseptiv musikkterapi. Undersøkelsen er en pilotstudie av et større prosjekt med afasipasienter ved Nevrologisk avdeling på Haukeland sykehus.

Relaxation in Music Therapy: A case study on two patients with aphasia during rehabilitation treatment This is a qualitative case study with a focus on whether or not receptive music therapy will have a relaxing influence on two patients who had aphasia caused by a traumatic brain injury. The two aphasia patients received different numbers of music therapy sessions over a period of approximately five - 5 - weeks. This was in addition to their normal rehabilitation treatment at a hospital. Both patients were severely affected by aphasia when this study took place, and they both had a poor production of words per minute. In this thesis the patients' own experience with receptive music therapy is emphasized, and also if they found it relaxing or not. The evaluation includes results from participating observations, questionnaires from a rating scale, pre- and post receptive music therapy, in addition to Norwegian Basic Testing for Aphasia pre- and post the music therapy course. The patients gave a positive feedback on the use of receptive music therapy. This inquiry is a pilot study to a larger scale project with aphasia patients at the Neurological Department at the Haukeland Hospital.
