The topic for this Master thesis is Constitutional Development in Sudan from 1956-2005. This thesis concentrates on the constitutional history in the Sudan, with an emphasis on the country's four implemented constitutions from 1956, 1973, 1998 and 2005. In order to understand constitutional development in Sudan, the country's political development has been important, especially the relationship between the North and the South Sudan. In addition to the historical context, the thesis has investigated the purpose of constitution-making in Sudan. It has also looked into constitutional characteristics and contested questions during the process of constitution- making in general. The thesis finishes with a comparative analysis of the four constitutions, where specific articles are analysed.en_US
