Abstract

Denne oppgaven omhandler musikkterapi i et samfunnsmusikkterapeutisk perspektiv, hvor målet er å finne nye veier til et tilbud som tar brukeres ønske om å nå ut i det frie musikkmiljøet på alvor. Denne oppgaven ligger forankret i en hermeneutisk tankegang, hvor aksjonsforskning rundt aktivitetene i et band og dets utvikling ut av musikkterapien utgjør forskningens funn. For å kunne stake ut en eventuell ny vei, har en også vært nødt til å se tilbake på historien til enkelte medlemmer i bandet, og hvordan musikkterapien foregikk der. Dette, sammen med analysen av feltnotater, observasjoner og et avsluttende intervju, danner grunnlaget for det som diskuteres i denne oppgaven. Gjennom funnene som er blitt gjort, viser det seg at musikkterapien kanskje kan være tjent med å samarbeide med det åpne musikkmiljøet. Både gjennom akademiske samarbeid på et institusjonelt plan som Griegakademiet, og i sosiale nettverk i samfunnet rundt musikkterapeuter og musikere, kan broer mellom musikkterapi og musikk skapes.

This master thesis approaches music therapy through a community music therapeutic perspective. My goal has been to find new pathways towards a music therapy where its user’s ambitions of reaching for the free and established music scene, are taken more seriously. This thesis is rooted in a hermeneutic theory, where action research on different activities in a band, and the bands development through its course out of music therapy, represents its findings. To find new approaches and pathways, I’ve also had to look through certain members music therapeutic history. This, combined with the further analysis of field notes, observations, and a finishing interview, forms the basis for the discussion in this thesis. The concluding findings suggest that music therapy can benefit from collaborating with the free musical scene. Through both an academic approach on an institutional level at Griegakademiet, or the different social networks in the community around music therapists and musicians, bridges between music therapy and music can be made.
