The development of tonal dialects in the Scandinavian languages
Abstract
This PPT-presentation, given at a conference in 2004, is an early version of the hypothesis that the origin of the North-Germanic tonal accents can be traced back to a difference in timing of an accentual high tone in mono- and plurisyllabic domain, due to so-called peak delay.
