dc.description.abstract | Flexible assertive community treatment (FACT) is a multidisciplinary service model that provides integrating care for people with severe mental illness. Until now, there is few studies that have examined the role music therapy can have in a FACT-context. This thesis therefore aims to explore the role of music therapy in a FACT-team, based on a focus group interview of the interdisciplinary team's experiences. The findings suggest that music therapy can function as a «door opener» through creating a safe place for contact, being an arena for positive experiences, and providing a different platform for communication. This indicates that music therapy can be a good supplement that can provide greater flexibility and width to a FACT-team. | |
