This qualitative phenomenological study investigates the perspectives of five music therapists on their roles of working with people who have eating disorders. Through semi-structured interviews followed by transcriptions and thematic analysis, I identified four key themes: the therapeutic relationship, emotions, identity, and user involvement. Following these results a model that functions to explain and visualise the relationship between these findings is constructed. It is then argued that the findings show that music therapy with people who have eating disorders can be conceptualized as a collaborative process between client and therapist, with the therapist adapting their approach to meet the unique needs and preferences of each individual. Additionally, the concept of the "working woman" is introduced to highlight the active collaboration in music therapy. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the perspectives of music therapists in the landscape of eating disorder treatment.
