Et religionvitenskapelig studie av religiøs identitet blant kurdiske êzidîungdommer i Tyskland
Abstract
This study analyses religious identity among Kurdish êzidî youth in diaspora, focusing on êzidîs from South-Kurdistan (North- Irak). The thesis is based on fieldwork conducted in the German town of Bielefeld during the summer of 2015. The empirical data consists of eleven qualitative interviews. The main objective is to explore how êzidî youth practise religious identity in diaspora, in terms of practising various rituals, holidays and ceremonies. Furthermore, the thesis addresses one of the key elements of the êzidî religion, namely the religious caste system and marriage.
