Sammendrag
This master thesis aims to see if there is a correlation between the development of Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo`s director studies and the development towards postdramatical dramaturgy and ambient aesthetics on the institutional scene i Norway. Historically the director -studies at KHiO has been a provider of educated directors to the institutional scene and therefore are most likely a contributor to aesthetic change theatres are heading towards. In this thesis I will look at the historical and theoretical changes the studies has been through over the years to see if the methods and theories has changed, and if the changes corresponds with the aesthetic and dramaturgical changes we can see in the theatre. By focusing on directors thats have previously been apart of the school, and analyzing their performances, I can see if there is a practical change in the field but also see if the teachings of the school shows in students work. The former students I use as example is: Tyra Tønnessen with the play Julemiddag (2015) at the National Theatre, Alexander Mørk Eidem with the play Peer Gynt (2015) also at the National Theatre, Jonas Corell Petersen with the play Unge Werthers Lidingar (2010) at Det Norske Teater and Angelina Stojcevska with the play Ruslab- en følelseladet feiring av hjernen (2014). This thesis has both a historical and theoretical perspective as it first goes through the history of KHiO. Then takes a theoretical look at what the school teaches, but also what kind of aesthetics and dramaturgical this change represents.
