The purpose of this thesis is to explore how the borders and boundaries of music therapy are negotiated within a Norwegian context and how this could be understood considering the development of the field. Through a hermeneutic approach, the data has been collected by conducting a focus group interview with music therapists and music health workers. The findings suggest that the borders are mostly porous, and that they have been shaped and shifted in correlation with the development of music therapy. The findings also indicate that collaboration between music therapists and music health workers is the ideal approach in the further development of the field.en_US
