Abstract
Oppgaven tar utgangspunkt i de såkalte Kepesh-bøkene, nærmere bestemt The Breast (1972), The Professor of Desire (1977) og The Dying Animal (2001), av Philip Roth. Jeg argumenterer for at disse romanene, gjennom måten de tematiserer seksualitet på, har affinitet til det groteske som estetisk kategori - og diskuterer de lesermessige konsekvensene av dette.
