Abstract
The Right to Information Act, 2009' is considered as, one of the most significant policies in recent times, since it came at a time, when there have been lots of debates on country's willingness to ensure transparency and accountability in the governing process. The main objective of enactment of 'the Right to Information Act, 2009' was to ensure people's accessibility to information. The Union Parishad, being the lowest tier in the local government structure in Bangladesh, has the authority to perform directly at community level. As the success of a policy lies on the effectiveness of its implementation, the study tries to find out, to what extent the implementation of Right to Information (RTI) Act led to achievement of the policy objectives set under this act at UP level.
