RadioWeb. The Design, Development and Formative Evaluation of Web-Based Learning Material for Radiology

This dissertation describes the RadioWeb project. The scope of this project was to plan, design, develop and evaluate a prototype for delivering web-based learning material in radiology at the University of Bergen. The learning material includes an online web lecture, lecture notes, exercises and a discussion group. The dissertation consists of two parts: the first part describes the different stages in the development of RadioWeb, while the second part focuses on the formative evaluation of RadioWeb. This evaluation was carried out as a field test with students from the target user group and the intention was to discover potential improvements regarding the design of RadioWeb. The research question asked was: “What new design issues arise from a formative evaluation of RadioWeb?” and the answer turned out to be: “Quite a few”.
