| dc.description.abstract | This master thesis is about the Cradle-to- Cradle principles and the overall circular economy. I have especially been looking into companies that have chosen to implement the Cradle to Cradle principles into their business. I have tried to find out how they work with the certification program and look at which challenges these companies may meet on their way in a Cradle to Cradle certification process. How this concept, including the implementation in the production system and the products, have improved «the greening» of the enterprise is discussed. I have also investigated if Cradle to Cradle can lead to new ideas on innovation. I have chosen to do my field research in the Netherlands, and focus especially on the province of Limburg and Venlo municipality. In addition to the focus on firms and the overall Cradle to Cradle certification program, I also look into Limburg and Venlo municipality's focus on Cradle to Cradle as a regional development strategy. | en_US |
