Abstract

This thesis explores the Swedish writer Sara Stridsberg’s novel Drömfakulteten – tillägg till sexualteorin through the method of close reading with a theoretical foundation in Gérard Genettes narrative discourse. The analysis of Stridsberg’s novel examines a fragmented and multifaceted text, with an emphasis on narrative techniques as meta narration, repetition, chronological breaks, narration, intertextuality, transtextuality and collage. In addition, there will be a further exploration of the common motifs in the novel, and how they develop into dynamic tropes that fortify a connection between thematic and formal elements in Drömfakulteten.
