Opplevelse av omsorg i mottak for enslige mindreårige asylsøkere

Abstract

Formålet med denne oppgaven er å belyse temaet: omsorg i asylmottak for enslige mindreårige asylsøkere. Masteroppgaven baserer seg på opplevelsen av omsorg, og hvilken livssituasjon barna opplever å befinne seg i. Oppgavens problemstilling lyder som følgende: Hvordan opplever de enslige mindreårige asylsøkerne sin livs-, og omsorgssituasjon i asylmottak i Norge? Oppgaven bygger på Bronfenbrenners sosialøkologiske modell og traumebevisst omsorg som teoretisk grunnlag for tilstrekkelig omsorg og tilrettelegging for barnets utvikling. Oppgaven har et kvalitativt forskningsdesign, med intervju av enslige mindreårige asylsøkere som datainnsamlingsmetode. Utvalget ble syv informanter som nå var voksne, men som har vært enslige mindreårige asylsøkere bosatt i asylmottak i Norge. Mine funn viser at ansatte i asylmottak, og representantordningen for de enslige mindreårige står ovenfor mange utfordringer for tilstrekkelig omsorg og bosetting for de enslige mindreårige asylsøkerne. Jeg finner av informantene har varierende opplevelser av sin omsorgs-, og livssituasjon, og oppgaven reiser en del dilemmaer mellom kontinuerligheten i omsorgen og midlertidigheten av oppholdet i asylmottak. Mine funn viser at representantordningen har stort forbedringspotensial, at omsorgen og tilretteleggingen for de enslige mindreårige begrenser mulighetene for integrering, og at de stort sett tilbringer tid med andre enslige mindreårige. Oppgaven frembringer en del forslag til forbedring for de enslige mindreårige asylsøkernes livssituasjon.

Background: The theme of this thesis is level of care the unaccompanied asylum-seeking children experience in their meeting with the Norwegian reception centres. The goal of this assignment is to illuminate the theme around the care and housing conditions in Norwegian reception centres. The thesis also wants to contribute to a higher level of knowledge on the area. Research question: This assignments research question is: How do unaccompanied asylum-seeking children experience their life and care situation in Norwegian reception centers? Key words: Unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, care, relation, development and housing conditions. Empirical basis: The empirical material is discussed from Bronfenbrenner's ecological systems theory of development. This model and trauma conscious care makes the theoretical basis of the assignment. Research methods: This assignment has a qualitative research design, and has used interviews as method for data collection. The selection of informants consists of seven children who has been unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in Norwegian reception centers. Findings: My findings show that employees in asylum reception are facing many challenges for adequate care and settlement for the unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in Norway. The informants' experiences of care and life are of high variety, and the thesis raises many dilemmas between the continuity of care and the temporality of the stay in reception centers. My findings show that the Scheme for caregivers does not aim at the treatment it is supposed to. The unaccompanied asylum-seeking children are given limited possibilities of integration. The thesis finds that they are spending most of their time with other single minors. The task provides a number of suggestions for improvement for the life situation of the unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in Norway.
