Abstract
This thesis is a case study about the European Commission following the European sovereign debt crisis. It builds on Hamilton’s (2006) theoretical argument that an organization’s loss of legitimacy becomes reflected in four key aspects, related to management's performance, potential distancing from allies, its ability to accumulate resources and its overall reputation.
