Abstract
The main focus in the Moldovan-Norwegian library development project “Development of New Information Services for Moldovan Higher Economic Education”, is on developing the academic library of ASEM, Economic Academy of Science of Moldavia, for the benefit of Moldovan students and scholars. This is done in partnership between the Academy of Economic Studies, Moldova, and the University of Bergen, Norway. However, this cannot be achieved without developing the library leadership as well. In this paper, the leaders of Moldovan academic libraries are investigated in order to find their attitudes to challenges, and their conception of the urgency of the challenges will be compared with similar studies of library leaders from Norway and Romania.
