dc.description.abstract | This thesis is about the coverage of visual arts in the Norwegian media: How the media presents this field's content in the public sphere. I have studied culture journalistic texts primarly in newspapers, but also online, on Television and radio using different research methods and theoretical perspectives. Art Sociologist Day Solhjell's research on the Norwegian art scene is introduced, along with Pierre Bourdieu's theories of the social fields, capital and taste, as well as theory based on Jürgen Habermas puplic sphere. Previous research on Norwegian culture journalism and art criticism will also form part of the theory's foundation. The method's consists of qualitative textual analysis of newspaper texts. A quantitative assessment and interviews with people in the field of journalism and art are also implemented, and form part of the basis for the thesis' conclusions. | en_US |
| en_US |
